Insulation with Facing
Some types of insulation are available with facing, which helps protect the surface, hold the insulation together and fasten the material to building components. Facing can be any variety of material—common ones include:
- Kraft paper
- Foil kraft paper
- Aluminum foil
- Vinyl
Facings can not only protect insulation during the manufacturing process and beyond but also act as an air barrier, vapor barrier and/or radiant barrier.
